OKUPA isn’t limited to the physical space it inhabits
The Greek capital is intertwined with our DNA on the deepest level, from the view of the Acropolis we enjoy to the local herbal teas we serve.Athens has given us a home and we aim to return the favour by doing the right thing for the community: supporting local NGOs and social initiatives, collaborating with local food producers and opening our doors to artists through our ‘Artist at Okupa’ residence programme.Driven by passion and devotion, our vision is to create an environment we would like to live in and where you would be happy to stay.
Lexikopoleio
Lexikopoleio located in Vatrahonissi (Proskopon Square), is a hidden gem for bibliophiles who seek refuge from the hustle and bustle of the city. It’s a journey back in time full of charm, rare editions, colorful bookshelves, and a well curated range of books in many languages.
As you step inside you get greeted by Audile, and her lovely cats feeling cozy and nostalgic, absolutely at home. The independent bookstore also curated Okupa’s extensive library and hosts regular events/book fairs and clubs and fostering a sense of community among book lovers.

PJP The Artist
Mimis spent 21 years in NYC pursuing his two greatest passions: dance and handmade jewelry. His artsy corner store in Pagrati, reflects his aesthetics and different perception of spaces, totally aligned with Okupa’s vibe.
As soon as you enter the space, you can’t help but notice his motorbike parked in the middle of the store surrounded by a biophilic design full of indoor flowers for sale together with all of his handmade jewelry creations. Being a natural on bringing energy into spaces, he also dwelled couple of years ago into gemstones/semiprecious jewelry design infatuated by their healing properties. Mimis created some tailor-made jewelry designs for our Boutique and healing retreats and has been giving jewelry-making workshops and gemstone seminars at Okupa.

Polyamorous
Alex, the owner of Polyamorous concept store is a living example of one’s ability to accommodate three crushes at once, literally under the same roof. From spirits, his oldest crush deriving from his long-lasting background as a bartender and cool flower & bouquet arrangements putting together the season’s best blooms to edgy yet playful sex-toys.
This passionate concept store at Exarcheia is an ode to all of his three weak spots, which can also be reflected at Okupa through flower and foraging workshops, and a thoughtful curation of sex toys designed for our Boutique.
